Hi Practo user, thyroid is a medical condition in which the body hormones get disturbed because of which your metabolism starts decreasing and hence you start increasing on your weight. So when your doctor provides you medicine it just helps you regulate on your nutritional deficiency of iodine which happens in thyroid disease. the medicine is not responsible to regulate your weight.

Thyroid can not be cured it can be prevented by diet. For reducing weight follow three main things like healthy diet, exercise and brisk walk morning and evening. Take high fiber food in ur diet. Add more fruits and vegetables in ur diet. Add plenty of water. Small and frequent feeding should be included in your diet. Avoid junk food and oily food.

1. Drink water 16 glasses daily 2. Take high fibre diet and low fat and carbohydrates diet plan and do exercise. 3. Stop eating outside foods and packets foods , junk foods etc fatty  . 4. You can start with cardio exercise during the day. Take proper meal at the interval of every 2 hourly. Plenty of water will be good for you. Take proper sleep. Get your body consutitution ( vaat/pit/kapha) done, only TSH is not responsible for weight gain/loss. You should see the balance of body consutitution too.

I need to know your diet schedule, it it not necessary that u will start your thyroid medication so will start to loose weight. Take direct consultation You need to follow balance diet with regular exercise.
