Hi, orthodontist mainly deal with bones. So TMJ corrections can be done by them. Elastics plays a major role in correcting mild TMJ problems. The term called occlusion is more important in ur teeth, if that is not proper it will leads to major issues like TMJ problem. As of now ur complete jaw is moving by elastics so only u r feeling ur teeth is not fitting properly. But at the end wen the proper occlusion attains u will feel comfortable. But u have to wait..
Next Steps

TMJ splints are basically given for correction of bite adjustment which will reduce your pressure on TMJ. After splinting you have to undergo proper orthodontic treatment so that adjusted bite will remain stable. It is lengthy procedure but gives good results. Be patient and complete your treatment and follow your dentist's and orthodontist's instructions
Next Steps

Health Tips
