Not able to raise left arm more than slightly above shoulder level, if doing forcefully there is lot of pain. This is since last 1 month. Not sure what can be done

Your pain could be due to shoulder muscle injury or periarthritis shoulder. Do you have diabetes or any previous history of fall or injury to shoulder? Is that pain continuous or intermittent?

You should give hot water fomentation for your shoulder for 15-20 minutes twice a day.

You should do shoulder mobilization and strengthening exercises with proper guidance.

For pain relief apply hot water fermentation for 15 min twice a day and apply any diclofenac gel for pain relief.
Try to do the active movements of the shoulder in all directions.
Upto a limited pain free range.
