Hi, I am doubtful about the diagnosis at your age and BMI. It most likely is an episode of synovitis which is causing recurrent episodes of pain and swelling and discomfort. It is advisable for you to consult an expert orthopedic doctor like us for detailed history, findings and appropriate treatment for the same. This episodes of synovitis and knee pain requires medication for symptomatic relief like - 1. Tab. Alovac SP twice a day 2. Tab. Diacerin GM twice a day 3. Avoid long distance walking 4. Cold/ Hot fomentation 5. Avoid sitting cross legged, squatting, climbing stairs Please consult direct with us to get complete prescription and detailed medicine list for treatment of your condition Thank you Yours Orthopedic doctor, Dr. Chintan Doshi

At your age it's less likely to be osteoarthritis. More over it can be simple synovitis. Please take NSAIDs, hot therapy and rest. When pain subsides you can start on physiotherapy for knee Strengthening.
