Septal spur is a structural issue in the nasal septum, and while Ayurveda cannot remove the bony spur, it can help reduce symptoms like nasal blockage, headache, or sinusitis through treatments like: Nasya therapy (medicated nasal drops) Steam inhalation with herbs Herbal medicines to reduce inflammation and improve breathing However, if symptoms are severe, surgical correction (septoplasty) may be needed. Consult for personalized Ayurvedic support based on your condition.

Hello, Thank you for your query. A septal spur is a structural issue in the nasal septum, and while Ayurveda can help manage symptoms like nasal congestion, headaches, or sinus issues related to it — the structural deviation itself may not be fully corrected without surgical intervention. However, with the right Ayurvedic treatments like nasya, herbal formulations, and lifestyle corrections, we may be able to reduce discomfort and improve your breathing quality. I’d recommend booking a consultation so I can understand your symptoms better and guide you with a personalized approach. Warm regards, Dr. Arisha Ayurveda Consultant

Yes, an internal **septal spur** (bony projection or deviation in nasal septum) can cause **nasal blockage, headache, sinus congestion, post-nasal drip**, and breathing issues. While surgery (septoplasty) is the allopathic solution, **Ayurveda offers non-surgical treatments** that can help **reduce symptoms**, improve **nasal airflow**, and support **better sinus drainage**. --- ## 🧠 What Is a Septal Spur? A **septal spur** is a sharp, bony outgrowth on the nasal septum (the wall between the nostrils). It’s a **structural issue** and **won’t go away completely without surgery**, but **Ayurvedic therapies** can: * Reduce inflammation and swelling in nasal passages * Relieve nasal blockage and pressure * Improve breathing and sinus function * Prevent recurrent sinusitis --- ## 🌿 Ayurvedic Treatment Approach for Septal Spur While it **won’t remove the spur**, Ayurveda can help you **breathe better and live symptom-free** in many cases. --- ### 🔹 1. **Nasya (Nasal Detox Therapy) – Most Important** This is the **primary Ayurvedic treatment** for all nasal and sinus issues. #### ✅ Procedure (simple home version): * **Consult us for details* – 2 drops in each nostril daily * Best done **in the morning**, after steam inhalation * Lie down with head tilted back, apply oil, breathe in deeply, spit out if it drains into throat 👉 *Nasya clears mucus, reduces inflammation around the spur, and opens nasal channels.* --- ### 🔹 2. **Steam Inhalation (Swedana)** * Boil water with ***Consult us for details*powder * Inhale steam for 5–7 minutes before Nasya * Loosens congestion and reduces pressure --- ### 🔹 3. **Herbal Medicines (to reduce swelling & sinus congestion)** | Medicine | Dose | Benefit | | --------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | | ****Consult us for details* + Honey** | 1 tsp twice a day | Reduces sinus inflammation, mucus | | ****Consult us for details*** | ½ tsp with warm water before meals | Clears kapha from nasal passages | | ***Consult us for details** | 20 ml twice a day with warm water | Anti-inflammatory, reduces sinus pressure | | ***Consult us for details** (if headache due to sinus) | 20 ml twice a day | Relieves sinus-induced headache | --- ### 🔹 4. **Jal Neti (Saline Nasal Rinse)** – optional but effective * Use **lukewarm saline water** in a Neti pot * Helps clean nasal cavity and flush out allergens or irritants * Do it 2–3 times a week, followed by Nasya --- ## 🍲 Diet & Lifestyle Tips | ✅ Do | | | ----------------------------- | ------------------------------------- | | Warm water throughout the day | Light, warm, digestible food | Curd, sour, fried food | | Steam breathing daily | Sleep early, head elevated ❌ Avoid | Exposure to dust, cold air, pollution | | Sleeping under fan or AC directly | | Cold drinks, ice creams | Curd, sour, fried food | ## 🧘‍♂️ Yoga & Breathing Practices * **Anulom Vilom** (alternate nostril breathing) * **Bhramari pranayama** – excellent for sinus and nasal flow * Avoid **Kapalbhati** if there's bleeding or dryness --- ## 📌 Note: * These will not remove the **spur bone**, but many patients **avoid surgery** by managing the symptoms effectively through this approach. * If breathing or sinus issues are **severe or recurring**, and Ayurvedic therapy gives only partial relief, consult an ENT for a final assessment. --- Would you like: * 🧾 A precise 7-day or 30-day Ayurvedic treatment chart? * 📍 Clinic recommendations for **Nasya therapy** in Your place. For septal spur particularly there isn't actually specific treatment available other than surgical correction. There are symptomatic treatments available to reduce any symptoms that you might be experiencing because of the spur. Try consulting an ENT and discuss more about your symptoms and you can plan out the needed treatment.

It was usually an imbalance of vata -kapha doshas. Ayurveda cannot correct the structural deformity, can help in manage symptoms , reduce inflammation through nasyam, internal medications ,diet according to your prakruthi [unique constitution and mind body type]. Yoga and breathing practice also help for this.
