Hi,
It's incredibly difficult to break free from a toxic relationship, especially when there's a deep trauma bond involved. Recognizing the abuse and the toll it's taking on your well-being is a crucial first step. It's understandable that you're struggling to function, sleep, and focus on workâit's common for survivors of narcissistic abuse to experience these challenges.
Seeking help from a therapist or counselor who specializes in trauma and abuse recovery can provide you with the support and guidance you need to heal from the effects of the relationship. Therapy can help you process your experiences, learn coping strategies for managing trauma symptoms, and build healthier boundaries and self-esteem.
It's important to prioritize self-care during this time. Practice activities that help soothe and ground you, whether it's mindfulness, journaling, spending time in nature, or engaging in hobbies you enjoy. Reach out to trusted friends or family members for support, and consider joining a support group for survivors of narcissistic abuse to connect with others who understand what you're going through.
Breaking free from a trauma bond takes time and patience, but it is possible with the right support and resources. Remember that you deserve to be treated with respect and kindness, and that you have the strength within you to rebuild your life and move forward in a healthier direction.
Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling with this. I would recommend that you get in touch with a psychologist to unpack those feelings/thoughts/emotions and also go in contact with your ex. Trauma bonds can be hard to break, so reach out for all the support that you can get. Also recommend that you join online support groups to seek more support and motivation to get out of this rut.
Next Steps
Reach out to a psychologist, find online support groups, go no contact
It sounds like you've been through an incredibly challenging and painful experience. The effects of emotional abuse by a narcissist can be profound and long-lasting. It's completely understandable that you're struggling to overcome the trauma and that it's affecting your sleep and work.
Recovery from such trauma is a process, and it's important to be patient and kind to yourself as you navigate through it. Seeking support from a therapist or counselor who specializes in trauma can be incredibly beneficial. They can provide you with tools and techniques to manage your symptoms and work through the underlying issues.
In the meantime, practicing self-care activities such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and engaging in activities you enjoy can help alleviate some of the distress. Remember that healing takes time, and it's okay to ask for help along the way. You are not alone, and there are people who care about you and want to support you through this journey.
