Frequent multiple mouth ulcers along with on-and-off fever, loss of appetite, and recent weight loss for about two weeks should not be ignored. While simple aphthous ulcers can occur due to stress or vitamin deficiency, the presence of fever and weight loss suggests that there may be an underlying systemic cause. Common possibilities include: • Nutritional deficiencies (especially Vitamin B12, folate, or iron) • Viral infections such as **Herpes Simplex Infection • Immune related mouth ulcers such as **Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis • Less commonly systemic conditions like **Anemia or other infections Since the symptoms have persisted for two weeks with weight loss, it is important to investigate rather than treating only the ulcers.
Next Steps
You should consult a physician or an ENT specialist for evaluation. The doctor may advise basic tests such as: • CBC (to check for infection or anemia) • Vitamin B12 and folate levels • Iron profile • ESR or CRP • Blood sugar if needed For symptomatic relief meanwhile: • Apply oral gel like **Dologel CT or **Mucopain Gel 3–4 times daily on ulcers • Take a B-complex supplement such as **Becosules once daily for 2–3 weeks • Use warm saline mouth rinses 3–4 times daily If fever persists beyond a few more days or ulcers continue to recur, further evaluation may be required.
Health Tips
Avoid spicy, acidic, and very hot foods because they worsen ulcer pain. Maintain good hydration and try soft foods like curd, banana, khichdi, or soups if appetite is low. Stress, lack of sleep, and nutritional deficiencies are common triggers for recurrent ulcers, so improving diet and rest is important. If you want, you can book an online consultation and share more details about the fever pattern and weight loss so I can guide you on the exact tests and treatment needed.
