Mood swings, cribbing for everything
Hi, My wife is having mood swings. She will suddenly become anxious or angry on kids for no major reason. She is 41 yrs old and we have two kids - 14 yr old girl and 10 yr old boy. She has started talking very roughly with kids, especially with our daughter. I mean, the are reasons because these kids don't get up on time for school, don't complete homework on time, don't keep things in place and things would make anyone crazy but by now she should have accustomed to all this. She keeps murmuring old and very old family matters. Of course, those were not pleasing and hard to further but really very old. As old as, 15-20 yrs old. What could be the reason and probable solution? Does this fall under a serious medical condition? Pls suggest. Thanks

Hi I feel that this information is not sufficient enough to reach to a conclusion regarding her diagnosis. However as you mentioned a sudden rise in irritability and recalling old family matters does indicate towards a need for a visit to a mental health professional. You can visit a psychologist or a psychiatrist for further evaluation of her symtpoms but don't ignore this.
Next Steps
visit a mental health professional for clarity .

As per me, at her change this is quite common as she might be going through hormonal changes. But she needs to get into things which make her calm and stress free. I am an online counselor and can definitely help her by various techniques through counseling. Do get in touch with me for appointment. Visit my Facebook page Preeti Kashikar and the website mentioned on it to know my work. Don’t worry but seek help immediately before things turn worst. Happy to help !

It’s hard to comment on a patient just on this description. It’s recommended that you consult a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and family counselling. It will help you work on issues together as a unit.

Getting irritated because of what kids do is one thing, but continuously talking about old things that too 10-15 yrs old is odd. It does seem concerning. Please do get her evaluated by a psychiatrist, if it's nothing then well and good, but if it's a disorder then earlier you start treatment the better.
Next Steps
please do consult a psychiatrist and take her along for evaluation.

Hi Sir Thanks for seeking help here. After carefully reviewing the information, I feel to ask ....how long this issues going on... perhaps not a very long time, since you have never consulted before. Let's come to a discussion. Why ur wife's behaviour changed recently..... Children are in the same way they used to be since a long time .....why suddenly something started bothering her which has happened 15 years ago.. Just talk to her and ask her why this is happening. Keep her mood chat record. Only with acute stressors or a new onset depression can have this way symptoms. Let have a detail discussion for better clarity and management plans....

It is not a serious medical Condition.. Yet, she is not happy about things happened, and happening in her life... Also, she might be in peri-menopause phase... Generally, it  brings  out some irritation in women.. I suggest her to Consult a psychologist for a better understanding.

Hello. The symptoms u mentioned could be due to many reasons. But the two possible reasons I'd suggest are . Depression : people tend to become irritable when they are not able to feel good in anything they do and feel helpless. Beginning of Psychosis : she might start doubting people are talking about her and her inquisitive essential increases regarding what people are talking. Please visit a psychiatrist ans start her treatment as soon as possible. It needs to be diagnosed by an expert.
