Mood swings
I am a 32-year-old female experiencing extreme mood swings, anger, crying spells, overthinking, and anxiety. I often react strongly to small situations, especially in my relationship, and later feel guilty when I realize I may have overreacted. I also have difficulty sleeping because of racing thoughts and constant overthinking. I previously consulted a psychiatrist and was prescribed medications including Zolent Plus and later Petril 0.5 mg, but I was not regular with the medicines and have now stopped them completely.

Thank you for sharing what you’re going through. It sounds like you’re experiencing significant emotional distress, with intense mood fluctuations, overthinking, anxiety, and difficulty regulating your emotions. When these symptoms persist and begin affecting your relationships, sleep, and daily functioning, it’s important to seek proper support rather than trying to manage them alone. Since you’ve previously been prescribed psychiatric medication, I would strongly advise against restarting or discontinuing any medication without consulting your psychiatrist. Alongside psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy can help you understand the triggers behind these emotional reactions, develop healthier coping strategies, regulate emotions, and reduce overthinking. With the right treatment approach, these symptoms can improve significantly. Take care, and don’t hesitate to seek professional help early—it can make a meaningful difference.
