Unpredictable Moods
I've been having very bad mood swings since I can't remember. Some days I just feel numb and want to be left alone. Other days every little thing bothers me and I keep looking for fights to pick. I find it hard to feel happy or excited about anything. I don't know anymore if all this is valid or am I just making up issues which don't exist. I either go completely quiet or lash out at people - in family and house helps. I don't know what's going on. What do I do?

Likely borderline personality disorder with depressive symptoms. Needs assessment to confirm. Mood stabilisers with SSRIs and CBT would help in the majority.

Hi Overwhelming it is. Feels you’ve been stuck in a cycle of emotional highs and lows for a long time, and that can feel confusing and exhausting. Mood swings often come from deeper patterns sometimes linked to stress, past experiences, or even how our brain manages emotions. Do you notice if certain triggers make the swings worse? And how would it feel to finally have a way to steady your emotions instead of being pulled around by them? Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

It's not that you are making up issues. Yes ,u may think like that or others might believe that it's all excuses. But chronic low mood, feeling of emptiness, feeling numb , detached is not that simple to explain. There might be some stressor involved or some other psychological explanation.  Best approach to any problem is being open to talk and take help, which you took.
Next Steps
consult a psychiatrist for treatment and management.

From your description — prolonged periods of low mood, emotional numbness, irritability, anger outbursts, social withdrawal, and difficulty feeling joy — this is not simply “making up issues.” These are valid symptoms and can indicate an underlying mood or emotional regulation problem. Chronic low-grade depression (dysthymia) or major depressive disorder with irritability Mood dysregulation related to stress, unresolved trauma, or personality factors Anxiety or burnout that manifests as anger or numbness Physical causes (thyroid imbalance, vitamin deficiencies, substance use, or medication effects) can also contribute
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist for a proper evaluation sometimes a combination of therapy and medication is most effective. Psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, or trauma-focused therapy) can help you manage anger, numbness, and mood swings.
Health Tips
You are not overthinking — you are noticing signs that something needs attention. With proper assessment and early intervention, most people in your situation recover well and regain emotional balance
