hi, try concentrating on a candle flame for as long as possible and slowly increase the time. do visit a psychologist (they are not doctors) and seek therapy. it'll be helpful. take care.

Our thoughts, feelings and behavior are influenced by many factors like past experiences, upbringing, genes, environmental issues, stress levels, physical health etc. Yes, sometimes they become dysfunctional with negative automatic thoughts, anxiety, depressed feelings etc. You got to first get present to these experiences in the context of above and then, take things as a matter of fact. Read about mindfulness and practice. Make some lifestyle changes like joining Yoga, relaxation / meditation, eat healthy, practice good sleep hygiene etc. Address any underlying stresses one by one.
