Dear patient, A lump in the underarm that has been present for 2 years, with occasional pain, should not be ignored. This could be due to several reasons such as: • Enlarged lymph nodes (due to infection or other causes) • Lipoma (fatty tissue growth) • Sebaceous cyst or abscess • Rarely, it could be something more serious like a tumor.
Health Tips
Note: Since it’s been there for 2 years and sometimes painful, it’s important to rule out chronic infections or other conditions that may need treatment. Take care wishing you a speedy recovery!

Lump in axillary could a lymph nodal enlargement due to infections or granulations, benign swellings or tumors. Persisting for 2 years with only occassional pain and without size increase may be due to its non dangerous characteristics.
Next Steps
It's better to get an ultrasound of the axillary and  FNAC study just to be sure of its nature.
Health Tips
Consult, because feeling the lump by fingers tells a lot about the possibilities.
