A soft, mobile neck lump present for months is often an enlarged lymph node or benign cyst, but it should not be diagnosed by feel alone. Please have it examined; an ultrasound of the neck is appropriate if it persists or is enlarging. Seek prompt review for a hard or fixed growth, size increase, fever, night sweats, weight loss or difficulty swallowing. I can examine you through Practo or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj—please book a consultation.

A soft, movable lump on the side of your neck is most often a lymph node or a small fatty lump, and these are usually harmless. Because yours has been there for a few months, you should still have it examined. A general physician can feel it and may order a neck ultrasound if needed. Get seen sooner if it grows, turns hard or fixed, or you have fever, night sweats or weight loss.
