My Mother Has a lump on her gum from more than one month. The lump is painless. She is not facing any problems except the lump near the molar. I'm attaching the photos of the swollen area. Please help me what is this... I had gone to the dentist.. He prescribed the antibiotics and some gel. But his medicines didn't solved the problem. Again i went to him. He inserted a needle on the swollen area to drain the puss. But the puss didn't drained out. Please help me to understand that what is causing the swollen lump near the gums. I'm attaching the photos of the affected area.

Hello,
It's seen clearly that there is sinus opening near molar. Get an opg done. There is generalised gum inflammation normal gums don't look so swelled. There are lots of stains present on teeth..
I would just to get the pus drained from molar region after seeing problem is periapical or periodontal which opg will rule out then go or a mouth cleaning it's must.
As I can see there is generalised attrition present a full mouth rehabilitation can be done to save the rest of the tooth and if any habit or tobacco or pan or anything as such if present must be stopped
It seems to be hard tissue swelling .In Long standing and chronic cases we don't get pain but as a sinus is present, we need to find out wheter it is periapical or periodontal, soft tissue swelling or hard tissue swelling . Ask ur dentist for an iopa and opg and an occlusal view . U can upload d picks of both then we can guide u further .
