Lower back pain
Hii ,I'm working in CISF . I'm a security person for industries. So we have night shift also. I got an MRI scan a year ago and got to know I'm having severe lower back pain. A week ago ,in my  garden I tried to lift a banana stem which was fallen ,so while lifting it something stuck on my other leg so unknowingly I lifted the stem with full force, so that hit my back so hardly that the pain is unbearable. Even after taking pain killer it's not working. Now it's almost 2 weeks the pain is same . Do I need to have X-ray done? Or only medicine to be taken.

As you described the history it show that their can be disc prblm which was their previously  also and for which  mri was done 1 year back. I suggest get your;- 1) xray dorsoLumbar spine   AP view and lateral view  - to rule out any bone injury or fracture 2. Mri lumbar spine with whole spine screening  to rule out lumbar   disc bulge increased and compressing the nerve . As you belong to essential service. Going out will not be a problem. Try to find a Orthopaedic doctor near you to get your self examined and then go for above test & accordingly treatment will be planned. And you wil be alright
Health Tips
take rest.  hot fomentation 20 min thrice per day for 7 days. volini gel thrice /day for 7 days.

Sudden jerk while weight lifting might have lead to disc bulge or prolapse in lower back region. That might have caused inflammation around the spinal cord and thus causing pain. Is there any pain in lower limbs also..
Next Steps
You need to take complete bed rest for at least 2 to 3 weeks. You can take analgesics for pain relief,  continue hot fomentation,   X ray may be required to rule out any bony pathology or muscle spasm. If not relieved, may require MRI.
Health Tips
Avoid any weight lifting activities or heavy work.
