Platelets at 150 are borderline low-normal (150-410). High MPV and RDW suggest mild anemia or platelet destruction. Low Vit D (19.1) and B12 (280) need supplementation. No immediate concern but needs monitoring and vitamin correction.
Next Steps
Start Vit D 60,000 IU weekly for 8 weeks B12 supplement 1000mcg daily Recheck CBC in 3 months Ensure iron-rich diet No panic needed - values manageable
Health Tips
These are mild abnormalities, not alarming. Most people with these values feel fine. Vitamin deficiency is common and easily treatable. Monitor but don't stress.
The platelet count is on the lower margin, but ok.
Vitamin b12 and vitamin D are on the lower end.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician.
Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. A platelet count of 150,000 is actually at the lower end of normal and not dangerous by itself, especially if your friend has no symptoms like bleeding, bruising, or weakness. The slightly high MPV, PDW, and PLCR indicate that the bone marrow is actively producing newer and larger platelets â this is generally a good compensatory sign, not a harmful one.
â Advices
Repeat CBC after 10 to 14 days to confirm stability of the platelet count.
Ensure adequate intake of foods rich in vitamin B12 (eggs, milk, fish) and vitamin D (morning sunlight, supplements if advised).
Avoid alcohol, smoking, or unnecessary medications like painkillers that may affect platelets.
What to Monitor
Any new bruising, gum bleeding, or red spots on the skin.
Unexplained fatigue or fever.
Management
At present, no treatment is required. However, your friend can start a vitamin D supplement (2000 IU daily) and a B-complex or B12 supplement to correct mild deficiencies. A nutritious diet and hydration will further support platelet health.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
If platelet count drops below 1 lakh in follow-up reports.
If any bleeding, petechiae, or gum bleeding appear.
If accompanied by fever, fatigue, or body aches (to rule out viral infections).
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting reassurance, itâs important to discuss the complete report, diet, and lifestyle in detail.
