Loose stools that started after moving to a new city like Kota is very commonly due to a change in water and food â this is sometimes called traveler's diarrhea or acclimatization-related gut disturbance. The tenesmus (urge to pass stool without actually going) and softer stools in the evening are consistent with mild gut irritation or a low-grade infection.
Next Steps
Please get a stool routine and culture test done to rule out any infection or parasite. Drink only filtered or boiled water, avoid outside food for now, and stay well hydrated. If it persists beyond a week or you develop blood in stools or fever, see a doctor in person. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Hi,
Loose stools after moving to a new place is common. 😊
It’s due to stress, change in water and diet, or mild gut adjustment.
Feel free to consult for further guidance. 👍
Likely causes include change in food/water after shifting to a new place, mild gut infection, anxiety/stress-related bowel changes, or early IBS. Since there is no abdominal pain, fever, blood in stool, vomiting, or weight loss, it appears non-emergency at present.
Advice:
* Drink safe/boiled or RO water only.
* Avoid outside food, oily/spicy food, excessive tea/coffee, cold drinks, and junk food for a few days.
* Take light home-cooked meals and increase curd/yogurt intake.
* Maintain hydration and sleep properly.
* Observe for red flag symptoms: fever, blood/mucus in stool, weight loss, severe pain, dehydration, or persistent symptoms.
Prescription:
Cap Probiotic (e.g. VSL#3 / Vizylac / Sporlac) – 1 capsule once daily after food for 5–7 days.
Tab Racecadotril 100 mg – SOS if loose stools are frequent (>3–4/day).
3. ORS after every loose stool.
