Grade 3 ACL tears mostly require surgery if the patient is young. Recovery cycle: Time to walk with walker non weight bearing -2 days. Time to knee bending - 2days. Time to walk weight bearing with walker -2 weeks. Time to walk weight bearing without walker -6 weeks. Time to return to sports/running- 3-4 months.
