Dear Doctors,
I am currently residing in Canada. My MRI results indicate a high-grade partial tear, which is likely functionally equivalent to a full-thickness ACL tear. However, my orthopedic examination, including the Lachman and anterior drawer tests, returned negative results. While I can walk, I do so with a pronounced limp. I am unable to fully squat and experience moderate difficulty with stairs. Currently, I am undergoing physiotherapy and using a brace for support.
Given my symptoms and current treatment, do I still require ACL reconstruction, or is it possible to continue with non-surgical rehabilitation? How can we determine the best approach for my situation?
I am asking here because my next follow-up appointment is scheduled for nearly six weeks from now, which is an extremely long wait.
Thank you.

Sometimes partial tear heals well. Start strength training with proprioceptive training. If u do well in that means ligament is functional otherwise plan for arthroscopic reconstruction

You would fare better with a surgery which will help stabilize your knee from within.
Meanwhile you can go for prehab as you have to wait for next appointment ! This would get us fantastic results if you considering surgery.
