• Your symptoms (itching + burning + flakes + occasional oozing) are most suggestive of seborrheic dermatitis with secondary infection OR scalp folliculitis
• Blackish flakes can be oxidized sebum/crusts, and oozing indicates inflammation or mild infection
• Less likely but to be ruled out: fungal infection (tinea capitis) if patch is localized and persistent
Next Steps
• Start medicated anti-dandruff shampoo 2–3 times/week
• If oozing/painful: may need topical antibiotic + mild steroid lotion (short course) → consult dermatologist
• Avoid oiling the scalp until condition settles (can worsen fungal/yeast component)
Helpful Tips / Word of Caution
• Do not scratch → can worsen infection and cause crusting
• Keep scalp clean, avoid sweat accumulation
• Avoid heavy hair products, gels, or harsh shampoos
• If there is hair loss, pus, or spreading patch, seek early evaluation to rule out fungal infection
