Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common mental health problem. Symptoms typically include recurring thoughts and repetitive actions in response to the recurring thoughts. A common example is recurring thoughts about germs and dirt, with a need to wash your hands repeatedly to "clean off the germs" However, there are many other examples like sexual thoughts, counting, checking, orderliness, etc. The usual treatments are cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant medicine, or both. Treatment often works well to reduce the symptoms and distress of OCD greatly. All the best.

I suggest counseling and therapy if required.

It seems that you are distressed by recurrent thoughts which we generally called pure obsessions. I think some regular psychotherapy sessions will help you to come out of it. Clinical Psychologists can train you in how to distract your brain and also you have to practice it very religiously. Initially it will be difficult to break the pattern of your thoughts but if you practice it you can gain mastery. I can here also suggest you some diatraction techniques but why i am suggesting you to go to a clinical psychologist for psychotherapy sessions? That's because they are trained people who can guide you and help you to practice various skills in front of them in the sessions which later on you can continue doing on uour own. Pure obsessions sometimes accompanies other issues like anxiety, relationship or occupational stress. So all of these can be targeted together. But if have to follow those instructions given bu them and continue the sessions for prescribed period.
