Intrusive thoughts
Doctor I experience a lot of intrusive thoughts, where any thought repeats excessively without sense. After washing my hands or feet, I feel like I haven't cleaned them. I have a lot of trouble with dirt, often confused about whether something is impure or pure, and if it's pure, whether it's clean or not. If I get splashed with water, I worry that I might get sick. I also have a lot of thoughts related to religion, constantly wondering if something is a sin or not. I get very confused.

These are signs and symptoms of OCD Don’t worry at all about you know you being guilty because it’s not you it’s the disorder that’s making you think things and do accordingly even the religious OCD the thoughts come naturally and you know they intrusive and you feel that you’re a bad person, but you’re not because this is disorder, thinking not your own thinking you should take therapy for this. These repetitive / obsessive thoughts seem true and hard to question. If these same thoughts are said by others we can doubt their reliability but we often take thoughts coming from our mind as absolutely true. It takes time to overcome and manage these thoughts, you should consult a mental health professional who can surely help you overcome these compulsive behavior patterns and lessen the distress level from thoughts.

Obsessive and intrusive thoughts, compulsive and repetitive actions and behaviour, obsession with cleanliness, fear of infections - all these most probably have their base in the unconscious and perpetual anxiety that your mind is carrying. Some may even say that these are symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). It may not be easy for you to figure out the triggers of such anxities. This kind of a situation may have its roots in your early childhood upbringing environment or even in your genetics. All these are not very important right now. In my opinion, you need to manage your perpetual state of anxiety (which I think is impelling you to think, act and react), if required even with medication, soon. Hence I would suggest you to consult a psychiatrist first. Once you start feeling better after that, please consult a psychologist and work out strategies to deal with your anxieties and obsessive / compulsive behaviours effectively.
