As iam from bramhin hindu family i cannot eat anything till i do pooja in d morning. this was continued n had severe acidity problem. went to doctors they adviced me not to have oily n deep fried items n also have less spicy food. infact i went one dietician in that she asked me not to have cocunut n groundnut powder in ur diet n also not to eat besan n maida though i followed her but no great result.
Then i met one of d physician doctor she adviced me to have either banana or an apple on empty stomach n do have breakfast followed by Tea i followed her on regular basis n there was great change but i had big tummy whichis uncomfortabl

Try having 6 small meals a day. Eat what you like but in smaller amounts n see how your body responds. You don't have to listen to anyone except your own body. Leaving out any specific food won't solve your issue. Do not give up on any food and just give more importance to yourself and fuel your body at right times.
If this doesn't solve the problem you might have a bigger issue and should consult a gastroenterologist.
