I have red spots all over my body and swellling at time. I took steroids which led to weight gain and hives are still not cured.

Steroids for hives are never the first line of medication. It can be an allergen you are in contact with continuously. Talk to a doctor here or in person and give proper history. Avoid Steroids as upon stoppage the symptoms will flare up again.
