Based on your symptoms, it would be beneficial to consult with a healthcare professional who specializes in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. These specialists are usually dentists or oral and maxillofacial surgeons who have additional training and expertise in diagnosing and treating TMJ-related issues. You can start by visiting a dentist who has experience in TMJ disorders. They will be able to assess your symptoms, examine your jaw joint and muscles, and provide a proper diagnosis. They may recommend further tests such as imaging studies or refer you to a specialist if necessary. In some cases, you may be referred to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or a TMJ specialist for more specialized care. These professionals have advanced knowledge in treating TMJ disorders and can offer a range of treatment options, including conservative approaches, medications, physical therapy, and, in some cases, surgical interventions. It's important to address your symptoms and seek professional advice as TMJ disorders can have a significant impact on your quality of life.
