Hello!
As seen in your OPG, the bone support around your teeth has reduced, which is why your dentist has advised cleaning and flap surgery. If this is not treated on time, the bone loss can increase further and the teeth may become more loose over time.
There’s no need to worry — professional cleaning is a very common and important procedure for maintaining gum and bone health, especially when gaps between teeth are present.
If you are concerned about pain or sensitivity during cleaning, you can ask your dentist to use a local anaesthesia spray or numbing gel beforehand to make the procedure more comfortable.
Next Steps
Complete the procedure by your dentist
Health Tips
Warm saline gargle 3-4 times a day

Cleaning is painful because theres expcess deposition of calculus..and they are goin deep while cleaning which is mandate.
What u can do is request your dentist to give you topical anaesthesia(spray).. .This will give u slight ease and you will feel les .

Hi dear, please don’t worry ❤️
I looked at your OPG. It mainly shows generalized horizontal bone loss, which most commonly happens because of calculus/tartar (hardened deposits) around the teeth and gums over time.
In simple words: the gums and supporting bone around your teeth have become a little weak because of deposits collecting under the gums. That’s why your dentist is doing deep cleaning (scaling) — it is done to remove those deposits, stop the disease from progressing, and help your gums heal.
I understand the cleaning can feel painful and scary, especially when it’s done in parts, but cleaning one side first and another side later is actually a common approach when there is more buildup.
The good news is: this condition is treatable and manageable, and cleaning is usually the first and most important step. After the deposits are removed, gums often become healthier, inflammation reduces, and symptoms gradually improve.
If you feel pain during cleaning, please tell your dentist openly — they can make you more comfortable and may use numbing options if needed.
You’re doing the right thing by getting treated. Try not to panic — ask your dentist any questions you have; there should be no doubt left in your mind. ❤️
Next Steps
I hope your dentist will guide you with the required medicines/products if needed (such as a mouthwash, gel/ointment, or other gum care instructions) based on your gum condition. Please continue the cleaning sessions and follow-ups as advised.
Also, since you have PCOS and hypothyroidism, keeping your hormones and overall health well controlled is important, as hormonal imbalance can influence gum inflammation and oral health.
If you still have any doubts or worries after your appointment, feel free to ask — you deserve to understand your treatment clearly. ❤️
Health Tips
Brush twice daily with gentle technique.
• Rinse well after meals and maintain good oral hygiene.
• Use a mouthwash only if recommended by your dentist, as different conditions require different products.
• Attend your follow-up cleaning appointments — consistency helps gums heal better.
• Keep PCOS/thyroid management on track, as overall health and hormones can affect gum health too.
Hello !
See as per the OPG your teeth have lost their support from bone so cleaning and flap surgeries are advisable as if your don’t go with this approach as per your dentist you will end up with more bone loss around your teeth and your tooth will become more mobile .
So don’t worry cleaning is a normal basic procedure and you should be definitely doing it as your teeth have gaps
If its painful ask your dentist to apply Local anaesthesia spray before they proceed with cleaning for better comfort
Next Steps
You should be going for the cleaning procedure definitely and further steps of treatment
