It seems like a repititive strain injury, I suspect your mother must be doing any task involving reptitive movements of biceps,I believe it must the right side .ask her to stop those movements n use the other hand till the pain subsides. As for the pain if its severe u need some physiotherapy which would include trigger point release, myofascial release and segmental stretching. At home u can apply ice ,it will give mild relief but only temporarily.

If she has pain 24 hours means during rest also then need to examin her to find the cause. Ask her to apply ice over paiful area 2-3 times a day for ten min. Do it for two three days. If this gives doesn't relief then take her to physiotherapist.

Hello there....well you need to be a bit specific regarding the pain experienced by your mother....is the pain experienced only on the outer muacle bulk or even her front side of shoulders pain...... most of the bicep related injuries are result of tendinitis which is swelling of bicep muscle tendon...this is usually bcos of repetative or stress related ...if your mother does lot of household work or even lifting a bit weights...can result in arm pain...however this is only assumption...hope your mother doesnt have neck pain.... rest to the part and proper assesment of the part by an Musculoskeletal physio/ortho can be beneficial if the problem is reocouring. Regards & take care.

Hi.... If your mother have a compressed nerve or repetitive strain injury, be consistent about therapy; maintain good posture; and take frequent breaks at work and during repetitive activities, such as during long work.... Let your mother Rest her arm if she has pain.... Consider antiinflammatory medications for few days. ....
