Half Tongue numbness and Burning pins
It’s been 25 days since my wisdom tooth surgery, and from the second day, I’ve had numbness, burning, and pins-and-needles on the right side of my tongue. The sensation is now milder and limited to a small patch. And some time wider I An oral surgeon prescribed Rejuvnex CD3 NF, and the dentist advised Neurobion Forte with 15 days of steroids. The affected area feels like a burn from hot food. Eating and sucking on lozenges or Vitamin C gives some relief, but the discomfort persists. I’m concerned about the possibility of permanent nerve damage and would appreciate any advice for recovery.

Hello sir, If a wisdom tooth was in proximity to the nerve and if any injury occurs to it, then it may cause these symptoms. If you are saying there is improvement then no need to worry. It takes days to months for the recovery based on the type of injury occurred. It's called paresthesia. Do follow medicines given by the doctor.

Hi, if the nerve is damaged, then it takes a longer time to recover. Take the prescribed medicines. Sensation will come back after a few days.

Depending upon nerve proximity to the tooth, this issue arises often times. However,  don't panic as it resolves within 2-3 months. Do complete your medication course, as it supports proper healing of nerve. Prickly sensation does indicate it is healing. If not resolved within the 4- 5 months, do consult your dentist

Based on the severity of wisdom tooth Impaction, deep inside the bone and proximity of nerve around that tooth, these complications are not uncommon. Continue the same medications , if you can feel the slightest pressure, those pricks and needles , ants crawling up the face like feeling.... It means that your nerve is actually recovering.... So no worries, it just takes time to recover

Hi! Your symptoms suggest temporary nerve irritation, which can happen after wisdom tooth surgery if the nerve was close to the surgical site. Since you're already on Neurobion Forte and vitamin support, and symptoms are slowly improving, that’s a positive sign. Nerve healing can take weeks to months. Continue the prescribed medications, avoid hot/spicy food, and try not to irritate the area further. If symptoms persist beyond 2–3 months or worsen, consider follow-up with a dental surgeon for further evaluation.
