You: • Completed full 4-dose Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV) • Last dose: 15th February • New dog bite: 22nd February (7 days later) • Mild bleeding present Since the bite occurred within days of completing full PEP, your body already has active protective antibodies. In such situations: ➡️ You are considered recently vaccinated ➡️ Rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) is NOT required ➡️ Full 4-dose schedule is NOT required again Guidelines recommend: If a person has completed a full PEP course and gets re-exposed within 3 months, no additional vaccine is usually required. So in your case: Most likely no further vaccination is needed.
Next Steps
✔ Immediately wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for 15 minutes ✔ Apply povidone iodine ✔ Observe the dog (if possible) for 10 days You may consult the same hospital for documentation, but medically: Since exposure occurred only 7 days after completing full PEP, booster doses are generally not necessary. If the dog: • Dies within 10 days • Shows signs of rabies Then re-evaluation is required (though risk remains extremely low due to recent vaccination).
Health Tips
✔ Always wash any bite wound thoroughly ✔ Do not panic — your immunity is active ✔ Keep record of vaccination dates ✔ Avoid provoking stray dogs ✔ Monitor wound for infection You are very well protected because the bite occurred immediately after completing vaccination. If you want complete reassurance, I can review the exact vaccine schedule you received and confirm based on national rabies guidelines. Booking an online consultation will allow us to verify everything properly and give you documented advice for peace of mind.

Since you completed full 4 doses just 1 week ago, you are protected. For a new bite within 3 months, usually no full course is needed, but 2 booster doses (Day 0 & 3) may be advised. Wash wound well.

Dear Patient, No need to restart the full vaccine course. Only 2 booster doses (Day 0 and Day 3) are recommended after any new exposure in a previously vaccinated person. What you should do now: • Immediately wash the wound with soap and running water for 10–15 minutes • Apply antiseptic (povidone iodine / betadine) • Take Rabies vaccine booster on Day 0 (today) and Day 3 • No Rabies Immunoglobulin (RIG) needed because you are already vaccinated You are safe if boosters are taken on time. Texlt me if you need further guidance.
