Extraction of premolars
I am having a case of deep bite....In my case, extraction of premolars is necessary in braces ??? Can't it be done without extraction by using metal braces(traditional braces) or I have to use self ligating braces to go for the non extraction process???... And if I have to use self ligating braces then what will be the overall cost of self ligating braces???

The decision to extract premolars during orthodontic treatment, such as braces, depends on various factors and is determined on a case-by-case basis. While your doctor initially mentioned that extraction may not be necessary, they also mentioned the possibility of extraction if needed during the process. This means that the final decision regarding extraction will depend on how your treatment progresses and the specific needs of your case. It's important to trust your orthodontist's professional judgment and expertise. They will assess your bite, tooth alignment, and facial structure to determine the best treatment plan for you. They will consider factors such as the severity of your deep bite, available space in your mouth, and the desired outcome to make an informed decision. Self-ligating braces are an alternative to traditional braces that use elastic or metal ties to hold the archwire in place. These braces utilize specialized brackets that have built-in clips or doors to secure the wire, eliminating the need for additional ties. The cost of self-ligating braces can vary depending on several factors, including your location, the orthodontist's experience, and the complexity of your case. It's best to consult with your orthodontist to get specific pricing information and to discuss whether self-ligating braces are a suitable option for your particular situation. Remember, each case is unique, and the best treatment plan will be determined by your orthodontist based on a thorough evaluation. It's important to communicate your concerns and preferences with your orthodontist so that together you can make an informed decision about the best approach for your specific needs.
