Does this require root canal
A dentist I visited this tooth would require root canal and a crown too. I visted another dentist and he said its not the case and it's been almost two months since I went back to the dentist. I had my exams in between and then didn't get appointment so it's now almost two months. I have been flossing and taking care of my teeth and never had pain in this tooth to begin with. Does it require root canal I am extremely scared of dental procedures

Carious on Root of tooth. If you doesn't feel any symptoms like sensitivity or pain then go for restoration. But permanent and long term solution is root canal treatment. Still have queries then please consult with doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.

Not required . But cavity filling is difficult as it’s a difficult area to access . Later on yes you may require root canal for permanent solution but for now u can maintain it if it’s not troubling you

Hi! True that it's not that deep when observed through the above X-ray. But the position it is in and the chances of it to get into a deep caries is high.
Next Steps
Visit a endo/ periodontist for further treatment plan.
Health Tips
Some caries look too small and when operated turns into a fairly big one. So be prepared for that. Flossing is very important. Take care.
