Pls find my attached CBC report, done as a part of routine check-up. I have HB of 16.2 and HCT of 48.3 %. According to my doctor this is Secondary Polycythemia due to prolonged smoking and I need ecosprin 75mg blood thinners.
is this really that serious to start blood thinners?
I am otherwise healthy and occasional smoker with no other symptoms.
I am bit surprised, suddenly blood thinners were prescribed but the values are within the normal range of the lab report.
Please suggest me.
