Routine test? subclinical hypothyroidism
72 years female. For subclinical hypothyroidism first diagnosed with TSH 10 one year back, and fluctuating TSH around slightly higher than normal range (3,5,9,10) checked every 2-3 months based on adjusting the dose of Thyronorm with normal t3 t4 and no symptoms, ?At What Intervals? should TSH be checked on routine basis if dose of medicine is being adjusted every time??
Current dose 62.5 mcg for TSH of 5.6.
Also antiTPO has never been done? Is it required? After how many months tsh needs to be checked for subclinical hypothyroidism?

For a stable patient on levothyroxine, TSH is usually rechecked 6â8 weeks after any dose change; once stable, every 6â12 months is generally adequate.
A TSH of 5.6 may need a small adjustment depending on symptoms, free T4, adherence and cardiac or bone risk, but do not change the dose without review.
Anti-TPO can help clarify autoimmune thyroiditis but usually does not need repeated testing.

If tsh level is not being maintained then after dose adjustment you should get it checked in 6-8 weeks like now tsh level is high so your dose possibly needs to be adjusted once TSH level is normal you can check it at an interval of around 3-6 months and anti tpo antibody along with it
