Diet for increasing haemoglobin
My mother aged 68 yrs has haemoglobin level slightly below than normal and physician suggested haemup syrup for 1-2 months as he said slightly lower than normal is because of deficiency of iron. But instead of that syrup, kindly suggest best vegetables, fruits, food to to consider in diet in order to get haemoglobin level in normal range in next 15 days. and what's the best option??? through diet or through syrup and why??? Thanks a lot for your valuable and honest responses

Hi Include more of green leafy vegetables with lemon juice squeezed just before eating. Dudhi, pomegranate, figs, apples munakka, raisins, legumes, kidney beans, broccoli all are rich in iron. Take vitamin c too for better absorption of iron. Include nuts and seeds in your mother's diet.

Give her soup juice of beetroot, carrot and tomatoes . Use tomatoes by boiling them then straining all from a strainner. And do check the cause of low haemoglobin is it caused by iron or protein. That is also important
