reasons can be following
1. incomplete rct or improper rct
2. high point in your cap
3. gum infection
4. faulty cap
i suggest clinical and radiographic examination
Pain in an Rc treated tooth can be because of improper cleaning during treatment or the margins of the crown/cap might not be in a proper fit. So there is food getting stuck in between your tooth and gums which is causing the pain when you chew or bite onto something. It can also be due to a higher crown height (high point on the crown) which is interfering in normal chewing. Either ways please get a check up as soon as you can to avoid re treatment.
Next Steps
Get an X- Ray
Health Tips
Please floss daily at least in the said area of pain. N use warm water rinses.
If pain comes and goes, and it's not a continuous pain. There can be two possible reasons for the same.
1. Crown is faulty which leads to food lodgement and occasional pain only when food gets stuck in between gums
2. There can be some leakage beneath the crown which has lead to reinfection or RCT was not cleaned completely in the first place
Next Steps
Visit a place which has RCT specialist and crown specialist immediately with your old X-rays (if there are any) and get yourself checked to know the exact problem
Health Tips
1. Do warm saline gargles ( a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt ) 3-4 times in a day
2. painkiller only if pain is unbearable
Pain in a RCT treated tooth is indicative of reinfection.
Cause could either be a RCT failure, highpoint in the crown or also food lodgement. You have to be cautious about maintenance of the teeths. Food lodgement in the crown margins could also be a concern for pain.
You need a clinical examination.

A root canal treated teeth can cause mild pain for a few days. This is temporary, and should go away on its own as long as you practice. You should see your dentist for a follow-up if the pain is continuous for more than a week.

Health Tips
#Hold warm saline or warm water with salt to the affected area.
You can start with ½ tsp. of salt to a cup of warm water. You can increase the amount up to a teaspoon, once you are used to it. Once you dissolve the salt in warm water, sip some, hold it in your mouth and then swish gently around the gums. Swish around your mouth for about 30 seconds, spit, and repeat.
#Maintain good oral hygiene
We have to repeat radiograph for the RCT treated tooth. In case of any periapical infection, start with antibiotics and Re- RCT may have to be considered.
