If problem is related to one tooth only , then definately that tooth will go for RCT , Please visit dentist once n get x-ray done . . Rest , if pain is generalised, not in any specific tooth , then go for subgingival scaling n then continue sensodyne ( REPAIR) Toothpaste. N apply just for 2-3min. And then brush ur tooth.

I think your tooth is attrited to a limit where sensodyne won't work. An image would be much helpful to determine and sujjetion of good toothpaste according.please don't take pain killers just like that .you should consult some other dentist.

In this case ,tooth is only problem.tooth has three layers enamel, dentin and pulp.if fracture or caries reach pulp it will cause pain.so stop taking painkiller.you would visit dental clinic.Do Root canal treatment if caries or fracture involved tooth .or if gingival height reduce ,there is chance of pain and sensitivity,in this case do root canal treatment and flap surgery or scaling. Root canal treatment is primary treatment for this tooth.
Next Steps
Visit endodontist clinic and do root canal treatment
Health Tips
Tooth brushing time is 2 to 3 minutes only,if over time brushing cause abrasion(wear away of tooth surface),it will cause tooth pain.
