If you're experiencing irritation in the gums and cheek biting with a new zirconia crown, it may indicate that the crown requires adjustments. It's best to schedule an appointment with your dentist to have the crown evaluated. During the examination, your dentist will assess the fit and alignment of the crown, as well as the occlusion (bite) relationship. They may recommend trimming or adjusting the crown to improve your comfort and prevent cheek biting. In some cases, a simple adjustment can alleviate the irritation and improve the overall fit of the crown. However, if the crown cannot be adequately adjusted or if there are underlying issues with its design or fit, your dentist may recommend a new crown. Consulting with your dentist is essential to determine the appropriate course of action. They will be able to assess your specific situation, discuss the options available, and provide personalized recommendations based on your needs.

Irritation in the gums and discomfort in the cheek bite area can be caused by a few different factors. One possibility is that the crown may require some adjustments to ensure a proper fit and alignment with your natural bite. Trimming or adjusting the crown can sometimes alleviate these issues and provide a more comfortable bite. Also, at times some set cement that was used to lute the crown remains in between your teeth that causes constant irritation and gum inflammation. I recommend scheduling an appointment with your dentist to have the crown evaluated. During the examination, your dentist will assess the fit of the crown, check for any irregularities, and evaluate the occlusion (the way your teeth come together). They may also examine the surrounding gum tissue to ensure there are no signs of inflammation or other underlying issues.
Next Steps
Remember that the expertise of a dentist is crucial in assessing the situation and providing personalized advice. I encourage you to seek professional dental care to address your concerns properly.

I don’t suggest any trimming unless if u have severe cheek bite . Irritation in the gums must be due to excess cement or food .
Next Steps
1.Get scaling done to get relief from gum irritation 2. Check with dentist and go for trimming only if required to resolve the issue of cheek bite

The picture is not clear enough to determine the problem and it would be better if you get it physically examined by the dentist at a professional dental care setup. However, by reducing the crown height, the irritation can be dealt with but still first getting it examined would be better.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist and get a thorough examination done .
