Dengue fever of 102 since 6 days
Hi , My brother is having dengue fever since 6 days. Fever has not come down and is between 100-102 and platelets are at 47k Is having fever in dengue for 7 days common ???he is hosptilised currently

Ya it's common to have high grade fever and platelet count will drop after 1 week of illness.. Let him be in hospital for better care. If some other bacterial infection which is super imposed on dengue then he needs antibiotics as well.

He is having complicated dengue fever. Platelet countvto be monitored. Platelet transfusion will be required ID count goes below 10K or there is bleeding Persisting fever can be seen afterv7 days also. Fever is the body response against an infection.
