After dengue, weakness usually lasts 2–4 weeks, sometimes up to 6 weeks even after platelets become normal.
Your platelet recovery from 50,000 → 2,20,000 is normal.
Fatigue stays longer because your body is still healing and immunity is rebuilding.
You will start feeling normal in about 2 more weeks.
Eat well, drink plenty of fluids, and rest properly.

Hello, I am Dr Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. Dengue recovery can feel very slow, especially when platelet count improves but weakness continues. This is completely normal and happens to most dengue patients.
Advices
1 Drink plenty of fluids like ORS, coconut water and soups as they speed up recovery.
2 Avoid heavy physical activity for at least ten to fourteen days after fever stops.
3 Take small frequent meals because appetite remains low for some time.
What to Monitor
1 Rapid heartbeat even with small activity.
2 Dizziness or low blood pressure.
3 Sudden drop in urine output.
Management
Your platelet count rising from fifty thousand to two lakh twenty thousand is an excellent sign.
But weakness after dengue can last two to four weeks, sometimes even longer. This happens because
⢠Muscles lose strength during the fever
⢠Liver enzymes take time to settle
⢠Hydration levels take time to normalize
⢠Sleep cycle and appetite remain disturbed
Most patients feel
⢠Body heaviness
⢠Fatigue
⢠Low stamina
⢠Mild joint pains
even after platelets become normal.
This does not mean the dengue is still active.
It is part of post dengue fatigue and improves steadily.
If weakness is too much, a short course of multivitamins or iron support may help. I can guide you with the exact medicines after knowing your symptoms, diet and final blood reports.
