Crown after RCT
I had RCT in India on one of my left side tooth. The tooth was properly filled. As I am working abroard, I am not getting time to give crown measurement and fittting in same hospital in India. Is it fine if I wait for 6 months and get the crown fitted? I will be on long leave at that time and will have time.

Yes you can get the crown fitted later but you must avoid hard things while chewing as root canal teeth are brittle and can fracture

It is mandatory to place a crown few days after a root canal treatment, as the tooth becomes brittle and chances of fracture are high If you are not able to place a crown for next 6 months make sure you avoid biting hard food on that side and The filling done after rct should be intact to prevent reinfection of the tooth.

Yes but you need to be careful and preserve the remaining structure as the tooth becomes quite fragile Avoid eating hard stuff from your left side

Hello,   If you had mentioned to your dentist that the crown is going to be delayed, he or she would have probably reduced the contact with the opposing tooth, (to reduce the load on the tooth).          In this case, the chances of your tooth breaking (before you get a crown) may be less, but still you will have to be careful not to bite hard stuff on that side till the crown is done (a crown that fits very well with the neighboring teeth, physically and aesthetically)    And please try to get the crown done as soon as possible.     Hope this helps. Regards.
