Cremaffin syrup in BPH
Revered physicians here 🙏🏻my father was diagnosed with BPH, with his prostate now weighing close to 98gm after a month of curzest and Tamdura capsule. Both capsules are now post breakfast with capsule urimax 0.2 added post dinner. Father has complaints of constipation. To resolve it, can he take cremaffin syrup (not cremaffin plus), 10/15 ml at bed time? Does cremaffin affect prostate/BPH in any which way? Or does cremaffin syrup interact with curzest, Tamdura or specifically with urimax which is to be taken at night? Warm Regards 🙏🏻

Cremaffin syrup (without Plus) is a stool softener and mild laxative that works within the gut and does not have any direct effect on the prostate or BPH. There are no known significant pharmacological interactions between Cremaffin and BPH medications such as dutasteride or tamsulosin. Short-term use for symptomatic constipation relief is generally considered safe, but for long-term management in elderly patients, dietary measures — increased fiber, fruits, vegetables, and fluid intake — are always preferred over regular laxative use. Since your father has a complex medical situation, it is best to confirm with his treating urologist.
Next Steps
Please confirm with his treating urologist or physician before starting the syrup regularly. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Yes, Cremaffin syrup 10–15 ml at bedtime can generally be used for constipation in BPH patients. It does not increase prostate size and does not have any significant interaction with Urimax (tamsulosin), Curzest, or Tamdura. In fact, avoiding constipation is beneficial in BPH, as straining during bowel movements can worsen urinary symptoms. Encourage adequate water intake, a fiber-rich diet, fruits, vegetables, and regular physical activity along with the laxative.
Next Steps
If constipation persists despite these measures or becomes recurrent, consult the treating physician for further evaluation.
Health Tips
Avoid long-term daily use of laxatives without medical supervision. Seek medical attention if there is abdominal pain, vomiting, blood in stools, or significant change in bowel habits.

Yes, Cremaffin syrup (without Plus) can generally be used for constipation in a patient with BPH. Cremaffin does not worsen prostate enlargement (BPH). It does not have any significant interaction with Curzest, Tamdura, or Urimax (tamsulosin). 10–15 mL at bedtime is a commonly used dose for constipation. Encourage adequate water intake, fruits, vegetables, and fiber-rich foods as well. If constipation is persistent, severe, associated with abdominal pain, vomiting, or blood in stools, he should be evaluated by his treating physician. Also, with a prostate size of ~98 g, regular follow-up with the urologist is important to assess symptoms, urine flow, post-void residual urine, and whether medical therapy is providing adequate benefit.
