Cough and cold
My child is having cough and cold since 5 days and pediatrician prescribed Macberry PD and cefixime so should I give this cough syrup as there were cases of death due to cough syrup so I am really concerned

Avoid cough SYP, also cefixime is not necessary. Most likely it is a viral infection and this will go in a week or so. Just keep the child hydrated. You can give nasal saline drops in case of nasal block. Coughing 5-6 times a day is absolutely normal for any individual. Don't be too bothered if your child is active and feeding well.

It's better to avoid cough syrups below 2 years. Other treatments can be given like nebulization. Please take a second opinion

Sorry to inform you that your more worried about only cough syrup but why not Antibiotic Cefixime. Your just giving unnecessarily antibiotic too. Just give Honitus syrup for cough that's it.
