Cold sore due to hsv1
I am diagnosed with hsv1 igg positive but I didn't had any outbreaks from last 6 months. I would prefer suppressive therapy if there is no long term side effects so that I don't transmit to my family. If it's get transmitted I feel guilty so please suggest .

HSV IgG positivity is not an indication to start suppressive therapy. If you had no episodes of recent infection then you don’t need suppressive therapy. It is only indicated to reduce risk of transmission to baby in pregnant females or recurrent episodes. Even after suppressive therapy there are chances of transmission
