Hi doctor, I have been tested hsv1 positive and my husband hsv1+2 positive .. so does that mean he has both hsv 1 and 2 ? I attached images .. the first report is mine and the second one is his ..

Hello. The first report mentions HSV-1 and 2 IgG positive. Usually labs give HSV1 and HSV2 reports separate. You meed to ask lab if both were positive and they have combined the result in report or they have not done separate tests. Second report is HSV-1 IgG positive. This means whosever reports they are, has earlier suffered from herpes simplex. So only IgG is positive. In current infection IgM is positive. And in recurrent infections both IgG and IgM will be positive.
