HSV 1 IgG positive
Dear Doctor, I am 27 single Male. Few months back I have observed small white pores on my penis. I got tested complete STD profile test. I was positive with HSV 1 IgG. Remaining all I.e. HSV 1 Igm & HSV 2 IgG and IgM & HIV 1 and 2, and 5 other tests got negative. I am single and I am not sexually very active. I had sex only once 4 years back with a lady and I used condom that time and it got broken during the intercourse. May be I got infected at that time only. 2 months back my HSV 1 IgG result was 144.1 RU/mL. After that I used ayurvedic madicines continuously till date. yesterday I got tested for HSV 1 IgG again and this time result was 177.3 RU/mL. So my anti bodies count for this infection increased which means virus also got increased. I am postponing my marriage in fear of my partner also getting infected. please guide me on madication to be followed to cure/control the infection. Also steps to follow to not get my future life partner getting infected. Thank You.

Hello. It's appreciable to see your concern of not infecting your partner. What you have is a condition called Herpes progenitalis. Once you acquire the infection your IgG levels will always be positive with some fluctuation in the levels. Please donot run around to get it fixed. Once infection is acquired there will be asymptomatic shedding of viruses from the skin even you don't have lesions. So using barrier protection like condoms helps in prevention of transmission of infection to your partner. Consult a dermatologist in person. Or take a private consultation from me so that all your doubts can be addressed
