Cervical muscle spasm & tendonitis shoul
I am getting pain in the right side of neck, ear, below ear (sometimes head and face). 2ndly, there is pain in the shoulder. I think shoulder pain came because of weight lifting. Gp said that the neck and right side pain is due to cervical muscle spasm. GP has asked for rest and icing. Is it a big problem? What do you su ggest?

Your symptoms can be from either a disc bulge in the neck vertebrae or due to your shoulder. Only a clinical exam will show the correct differentiation and further treatment can be given

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. However I would like to examine & investigate you  in detail. Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or any other metabolic disorder, if there is  any. Any way it may be tried, --. Dolokind Plus (Mankind) [Aceclofenac100 mg +Paracetamol 350 mg] 1 tab. OD & SOS. X 5 days. --. Caldikind plus  (Mankind) 1 tab OD x 10 days. (You may need help of your local doctor to get these medicines.) --. Fomentation with warm water. Let the part not be exposed to cold. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Use no pillow under the head. --. Avoid painful acts & activities. -- .Do mild exercises for  neck and shoulders. --.(Take help of a  physiotherapist). --Do not ignore, let it not become beginning of a major problem. --Do ask for a detailed treatment plan. Yes initially you need rest and ice packs. Avoid to sit in one posture for long periods of time. Keep neck straight. Neck strengthening exercises. Cervical pillow. Muscles relaxant for few days. Physiotherapy.
