Hiatus hernia measuring 3 cm is a mild condition ,managed with medicines if it causes symptoms.oral ulcers have many reasons. You can consult a gastroenterologist for appropriate management
A 3 cm hiatus hernia is small and not for surgery. Surgery is done if the size is more than 5 cms. Large hernias often allow stomach acid to flow backward, resulting in:
1. Heartburn and acid reflux (GERD)
2. Chest pain or abdominal pain
3. Difficulty swallowing
4. Shortness of breath
What types of Hiatal Hernias do you have:
1. Sliding Hiatal Hernia (Type I)
2. Paraesophageal Hernia (Types II, III, and IV): This is less common but potentially more dangerous.
Treatments: Small, asymptomatic hiatal hernias typically do not require treatment. For those experiencing symptoms, treatment options include:
1. Eating smaller meals, losing weight, and avoiding lying down immediately after eating.
2. Antacids, H2 blockers, or proton pump inhibitors to control acid.
3. For severe cases or paraesophageal hernias where the stomach is at risk of being strangled

A 3 cm hiatal hernia is usually considered a small to moderate sliding hiatal hernia. It can cause symptoms such as GERD (acid reflux), heartburn, regurgitation, excessive burping, bloating, chest discomfort, and gas. The burping and gas may be related to reflux and aerophagia.
Mouth ulcers are generally not caused directly by a hiatal hernia. Recurrent mouth ulcers are more commonly associated with nutritional deficiencies (iron, vitamin B12, folate), stress, local trauma, infections, autoimmune disorders, or other gastrointestinal conditions.
A hiatus hernia of 3 cms
Is small or moderate but not very big. It can cause mouth ulcers by causing acid reflux. Splashes of acid can cause irritation and resultant inflammation of delicate mucosa of mouth, resulting in ulcers.
Continue pantaprazole, diet restrictions.
