Elemental calcium required in pregnancy is 2000mg. Around 1000 mg we get from diet . Another 1000 mg we take supplements. This dose is correct.

Your calcium dose is safe and appropriate for pregnancy. Each tablet has: Calcium carbonate 1250 mg → gives elemental calcium 500 mg Vitamin D3 – 250 IU Taking it twice daily = 1000 mg elemental calcium + 500 IU Vitamin D3, which is the recommended daily requirement in pregnancy. ✔️ This dose is correct because: Pregnant women need 1000–1200 mg elemental calcium/day Vitamin D requirement is 400–800 IU/day Your dose falls exactly within this range ✔️ How to take it: Take calcium after meals Keep 2 hours gap from iron tablets (iron is absorbed better separately) ✔️ When to reduce? Only if you develop: Constipation not improving Kidney stones history High calcium levels in blood (rare)
