Actually I have been diagnosed with hiatus hernia and gerd in 2024 through upper endoscopy because I had symptoms like dull pain in epigastric region but after that dr (gastroenterologist)told me that I have to change lifestyle and like no coffee tea citrus food and spicy food no chocolate so I followed tha pain and every symptoms disappear for almost 1 year but again in this winter the pain returned but after again following diet changes and medicine he gave the pain went away (vono 20 , instaraft) but from jan 1 2026 one new symptom is happening that is burning sensation it's is radiating in lower back sometimes right lower flank and sometimes right lower belly region no pain nothing only feeling this radiating burning sensation i feel this sensation only when I am sitting idly or so I again went to my gastroenterologist he gave me vono 20 and sucrafil o gel which I am drinking from 10 days but the burning sensation is not going full is it dangerous or cancer related ?? What reason

Your symptoms may be due to increased severity of hiatus hernia or due to musculoskeletal cause.
Next Steps
you should consult for repeat upper GI endoscopy to see the status of hernia if it has increased or not /or has it caused more esophagitis.
if the severity is mild than cause may be musculoskeletal
Health Tips
continue dietary modification

The radiating burning sensation you're experiencing (felt in the lower back, right lower flank, and right lower belly region, mainly when sitting idly or resting with no severe pain) is most likely a referred pain related to your hiatus hernia and GERD. In a hiatal hernia, part of the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm, increasing acid reflux and irritating the esophagus or diaphragm area. This irritation can affect nearby nerves, causing burning or aching sensations that radiate from the upper abdomen/chest down to the mid or lower back, flank, or even abdominal regions—especially on one side like the right. This is an atypical but well-documented symptom of hiatal hernia/GERD flares, often worsened by posture changes (such as prolonged sitting, which can increase pressure on the hernia or allow more acid exposure), winter conditions (colder weather, reduced activity, or subtle diet slips), or incomplete control of acid despite medications. The fact that your earlier epigastric pain fully resolved with diet and meds but this new radiating burning persists partially despite Vono (rabeprazole/PPI) and Sucrafil suggests the root issue may be more mechanical (hernia pressure or nerve involvement) rather than just acid alone. The chance that this is cancer-related is very low—esophageal or stomach cancer typically presents with difficulty swallowing, significant weight loss, persistent vomiting, or bleeding, none of which match your description.
The burning sensation you describe, especially radiating to the lower back/flank and occurring mainly while sitting, is less typical of GERD or hiatal hernia alone. Such symptoms can sometimes be related to nerve or musculoskeletal causes (for example posture-related nerve irritation) or abdominal wall nerve sensitivity. At your age, cancer is very unlikely in the absence of warning signs such as weight loss, persistent vomiting, bleeding, or severe progressive pain.
Since your GERD symptoms previously responded to treatment, the current persistent burning despite medication suggests that another contributing factor should be evaluated in addition to acid reflux. For more information kindly consult me on practo
Your symptoms are most likely due to progression of existing hiatal hernia. If you don't see any improvement with current medicines, you may have to repeat the upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and compare to the previous endoscopy findings
It is due to your hiatus hernia, change your lifestyle and take PPIs for the gastritis
Consult Gastroenterologist if the symptoms increase despite this
This is hiatus hernia…
Maybe your hiatus has increased thats why you are getting recurrent symptoms.the symptoms you are getting are due to acid reflux which is GERD - Gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
You should go to the gastroenterologist and get Phmetry done .Phmetry is the procedure in which how much is the amount of acid is coming up is measured in 24 hrs… According to the score that is demeester score , the gastroenterologist will decide whether your symptoms will be relieved by Antacids or you need any procedure like ARMA or fundoplication .
Next Steps
Lifestyle modification or diet modification will work if the hiatus is small …

feel free to consult me here, if you want to look at all aspects. For that I need detailed history
It could be due to hiatus hernia
Please consult a gastrosurgeon for cure via surgery. Till then maintain life style measures
In addition to your meds, take syp maulox gel 5m.l every 6 to 8 hours.
No , its not cancer symptoms at all.burni g sensation is due to acid reflux in esophagus. Hiatal hernia cure is well manageable by lifestyle measures and dietary changes.consult me on practo for further management .
Need few more details for proper understanding of your issue.

The burning sensation you describe — radiating to the lower back, right lower flank, or right lower abdomen, occurring mainly when sitting idly, without any pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, weight loss, or blood in stool — is not dangerous and extremely unlikely to be cancer.
This is a classic atypical presentation of GERD / hiatus hernia-related irritation (esophageal or gastric reflux affecting the diaphragm, lower esophageal sphincter, or vagus nerve pathways), often worsened in winter due to:
• Dry air → more reflux
• Reduced physical activity → slower gastric emptying
• Possible dietary slips (even small)
• Stress/anxiety amplifying visceral hypersensitivity (very common in GERD patients)
The fact that:
• Symptoms completely disappeared for 1 year with lifestyle + medication
• Pain returned only in winter and improved with Vono (rabeprazole) + Sucrafil O (sucralfate + oxetacaine)
• No new alarm symptoms (dysphagia, odynophagia, anemia, weight loss, persistent vomiting, melena)
makes malignancy extremely unlikely at your age (22 years) and with a known benign diagnosis (hiatus hernia + GERD confirmed in 2024 endoscopy).
Cancer-related burning would typically be persistent, progressive, associated with weight loss, anemia, or abnormal endoscopy — none of which apply here.
Next Steps
1. Continue current treatment (Vono 20 mg + Sucrafil O gel) for at least 4–6 more weeks — do not stop abruptly.
2. See your gastroenterologist again in 1–2 weeks (not emergency) — report that burning is reduced but still present when idle.
• Ask for:
• Repeat upper GI endoscopy (only if symptoms persist >6–8 weeks despite strict compliance) — to check healing or progression
• 24-hour pH monitoring or impedance-pH study (if reflux is atypical) — to confirm reflux is the cause of radiating burning
• Trial of higher-dose PPI (e.g., Rabeprazole 40 mg BD) or add baclofen (reduces transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations)
3. No need for CT/MRI or cancer markers — your age, history, and symptom pattern do not justify them.
Health Tips
• Strict lifestyle changes (this is why symptoms returned):
• No food/drink 3 hours before lying down
• Elevate head end of bed 6–8 inches (use bricks or wedge pillow)
• No tight clothing around waist
• Small frequent meals — no large or heavy meals
• Avoid triggers completely: coffee, tea, citrus, spicy, chocolate, tomato, onion, garlic, mint, alcohol, carbonated drinks
• Chew food slowly, no talking while eating
• For burning sensation when idle:
• Avoid sitting slumped or in one position for >30 min — stand up, walk 2–3 min every hour
• Practice diaphragmatic breathing (belly breathing) 5–10 min when sensation starts — reduces reflux and vagus nerve irritation
• Try chewing sugar-free gum after meals (increases saliva → neutralizes acid)
• When to go to emergency (rare in your case):
• Sudden severe chest pain (rule out cardiac, though unlikely)
• Difficulty swallowing solids/liquids
• Vomiting blood or black stools
• Unexplained weight loss
This is still GERD-related (atypical radiation due to nerve irritation) — not cancer, not dangerous, and fully manageable with stricter lifestyle + optimized medication. Most patients with recurrent winter flares get complete control once adherence improves.
For a detailed, personalized plan (exact PPI dose adjustment, best anti-reflux diet chart for Indian food, diaphragmatic breathing technique with steps, which gastroenterologist in your city is best for refractory GERD, or how to do 24-hour pH monitoring if needed), please book an online consultation with me — I’ll review your full symptom timeline, current medicines, diet habits, and endoscopy report to give you a clear roadmap so the burning sensation finally disappears.
Looking forward to helping you get complete relief — book now and let’s make this winter symptom-free
Your ultrasound shows only mild fatty liver. Endoscopy shows hiatus hernia but no ulcer or growth — this is reassuring and not cancer.
Next Steps
Burning radiating to back/right side while sitting is more likely posture/nerve or muscular cause than GERD. Continue PPI, avoid long sitting, and do back exercises. If it persists, get urine test and LFT repeat — you may consult me for proper evaluation.
NO CANCER AT ALL.
ADD
NEXPRO RD40 ONE IN EMPTY STOMACH FOR TEN DAYS. MUCAIN GEL10 ML WITHOUT WATER NOTHING BY MOUTH TILL 30MIN CAN BE TAKEN 3TO4 TIMES SPECIALLY WHEN U FEEL BURNING.
CONTINUE PREVIOUS MEDICINE.
CHANGE LIFE STYLE N DIET PLAN DRASTICALLY FIRST.
This could be beacuse of your hiatus hearnia.
It should not be cancer. Can u plz tell me about your weight loss, you appetite, blood in stool or vomit.?
The burning senastion could be neuropathic as it is radiating to your back.
Next Steps
you should conatct to your gastroenterologist.
Health Tips
take care of your self and avoid late-night eating,
elevate head end of bed, limit spicy and acidic food.
