Breastfeeding duration
My baby is 2 and half months old with weight 4.9 Kg. His birth weight was 2.8 Kg. Recently he has started feeding only for 5-8 mins that too few times after a gap of 3-4 hours when he sleeps and regular 2-2 hours when awake . So is this normal ? His nappies are wet enough changes many a times other than when he sleeps. His weight gain is also good on routine checkup but is this long gap and small time duration of feed good for baby?

If the child goes to sleep comfortably after taking feeds and voiding urine 6 to 7 times daily,  consistently gaining weight over the period of time then nothing much to worry. Above said problem is normal behavioral pattern of the baby Follow my Facebook page for more query , Q &A

It’s normal . If he doesn’t wake up for 3 hours , wake him up . Baby is managing to suck his needed nutrition in 5-8 min . That’s ok

Yes it is ok as he is gaining weight, passing urine and is active. No need to worry. It may be a temporary phase

As far as the baby is voiding adequately 6 to 8 times per day and gains weight adequately there must be no feeding issue. You can encourage the Baby to feed from the other breast after completely fed from one side

Weight gain now is adequate. If child is passing urine 6 to 8 times than not to worry. Continue breastfeeding on demand.
